Bleaching a Doll's skin

Does anyone know if the AG skin tone can be bleached to a lighter shade. I would like to turn a Kaya doll into Elizabeth. I think with lighter skin and hair she would make a better Elizabeth than the blonde that's coming out.

I could be wrong, this is based on my knowledge from customizing "My Little Pony" dolls.I do not believe it is possible to lighten the color of the vinyl.Sunshine would bleach it over time, but it would probably also weaken the vinyl and fade it unevenly.

There IS a product called vinyl dye that will lighten vinyl, but it's more like a paint. It does soak in and completely change the color of the vinyl though. You need 2 applications, one white to lighten the old color and one for the final color. It can be bought at automotive paint shops, and many will custom mix colors. It was originally meant to recolor the vinyl parts such as seats on cars.

The computer modding community uses this stuff alot on laptops, mice etc, since it doesn't rub off with handling. I used it to dye an ugly grey laptop pink. First I applied 2 coats of white, then 2 of the hot pink. It looked great, and was durable. Sadly I no longer have the computer, so I can't take pics.

Also vinyl dye STINKS and needs to be used in well ventilated areas, and the final result probably should not be given to children since it's never been tested as to it's safety around kids.
